Dreams take us to faraway places, allow us to visit ancestors and angels, and teach us important lessons. It’s just about interpreting the dream correctly for yourself. Remember, the meaning of a dream to your friend might be completely different than the meaning to you. In this article, we take a look at being barefoot in a dream, in different settings and situations, could mean to you. Before You Interpret Your Barefoot Dream… Do yourself a favor and write down everything you remember from this barefoot dream. Anything at all. How you felt in the dream. How you felt when you woke up. The circumstances of the dream. Where were you? What were you walking on? Were your feet your own or seemingly someone else’s? All of these details will come in handy when interpreting the meaning of being barefoot in a dream. Dreams With Feet – Are They Significant? In most of our dreams, we aren’t looking at ourselves. We’re experiencing the dreamscape all around us. Is it a familiar place? Somewhere completely fantastical? Out of this world even? Maybe we have a friend or family member with us in the dream that keeps us company. Maybe we are running from an enemy or unseen monster. But most dreams aren’t focused on our own bodies but the bodies and situations around us. So, it should be said, when we have dreams in which we notice our bodies in some way, these dreams are particularly significant. And teach us special lessons to take into our waking lives. Therefore, when you’re barefoot in a dream, your subconscious mind and the universe are trying to bring something crucial to your attention. Foot Symbolism: Journeys, Sexuality, and Respect Before we break down all of the barefooted dreams, let’s talk about the importance of symbolism. Particularly, what our feet represent. First, the foot represents our ability to transport ourselves from place to place. It is its first function and the most important of all. Second, according to ancient mythology, the foot as a symbol represents respect and humility. Which is why certain ancient cultures washed their honored guests’ feet. There’s evidence of this practice in the Bible. Lastly, feet symbolize fertility, sexuality, and eroticism. This belief may explain those folks with a foot or shoe fetish. When You’re Barefoot in a Dream…The Basics Now that we understand what feet represent overall, let’s figure out what it means to be barefoot in a dream on a base level: If you’re feet are on the ground and you feel safe, this barefoot dream means you’re grounded in reality Walking with bare feet in a dream may indicate a journey you are currently on OR one you will soon take Running barefoot accompanied by a feeling of fear or anxiety means you are running from something in real life – be it your relationships, job, or a major decision If your bare feet are floating or jumping…this dream brings messages of joyfulness and whimsy Bare feet that look like someone else’s indicate you don’t feel like yourself lately or you’re envious of another’s stance in life (the idea of “walking in someone else’s shoes”) The Condition of Your Bare Feet May Change the Meaning of the Dream… Depending on how your feet look will change the potential meaning of your dream. For instance, if you have clean, manicured feet, you are confident and at peace in real life. However, if your feet are dirty, muddy or injured in the dream, the universe is telling you your life decisions need to change. Broken toes or bleeding feet means you are on the WRONG path in life and need to find another, safer way! And if you have amputated foot or toe? Consider the areas of your life in which you’ve been “cut off” from. How can you move forward? What About the Ground Under Your Feet? We think the ground and surroundings in your dream play a big part as to what the overall meaning is. So, if you can recall the ground and place you were walking, consider the options below. 1. A Dirt Road I’ve had many dreams in which I’m walking down a dirt road. Sometimes I’m bare foot. Expectedly, it doesn’t hurt having the gravel beneath my feet. The idea behind this dream is to either show you’re comfortability on a new, unpaved path in your life OR if you are uncomfortable in the dream…it means the opposite. That you’ve started down a new path, are unsure and wary. 2. Paved Road or Sidewalk In your barefoot dream are you walking down a paved road or sidewalk? If you feel safe and happy or curious, this is a big indication you are grounded in reality. And you’re on the right path in your career and life purpose. It might hurt in real life, but in dreams, bare feet typically indicates your comfort level is high in this circumstance. 3. Walking on or through water Well, aren’t you just a regular old child of god…walking on water with your barefeet? Kidding, of course! But if you find you’re barefoot in a dream and walking on water, you are feeling EXTRA confident and trusting in someone new in your life. Or in a new situation. Maybe you started a new job or just made a new friend. If you have a new lover, this means you can trust them. When you’re wading through water with bare feet, this depends on your feelings in the dream. If you feel light and free, you’re happy and relaxed with your current decisions. But a feeling of not being able to walk or run fast, you’re feeling held back. 4. Grass Being barefoot on the grass frequently means you want something you don’t have. Perhaps you’ve made goals to achieve that something – be it a big house, stable career, spouse or degree. But […]

Astral Projection Symptoms While Leaving & Re-entering Your Body https://otherworldlyoracle.com/astral-projection-symptoms/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=astral-projection-symptoms https://otherworldlyoracle.com/astral-projection-symptoms/#comments Wed, 22 Sep 2021 16:37:27 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=7444 I’ve been astral projecting since I was a little girl. Back then I didn’t know what I was doing was spiritually leaving my body at night and then returning before morning. As an adult, I realized a LOT of the weird things that happen while I’m sleeping are symptoms of my astral body leaving my physical body and then re-entering my physical body before waking. Talking to some friends online, we came up with a list of astral projection symptoms including the infamous shaking bed syndrome and sleep paralysis. First, What IS Astral Projection? Astral projection seems to get quite a bit of attention online in the spiritual community. There’s a whole community of people who talk about nothing but astral projection. But what IS astral projection, exactly? It is the state in which your astral body (what some might consider part of the spirit or soul) leaves your physical body and goes to other places or dimensions. Then returns to the physical body. Typically this experience happens in one’s sleep, but it can also happen during meditation, trancework, and other states of altered consciousness. The point to this article is to discuss the sometimes-terrifying and almost-always strange symptoms an individual may experience before and after astral projecting. Astral Projection Symptoms: Leaving and Returning To Your Physical Body Is it an easy process when a part of us leaves our physical body to go exploring at night? No. It may seem like it’s simple, because many of us aren’t aware that it’s happening. But think about it – we are literally allowing a part of ourselves to separate from our whole being. Then return, as it pleases. There’s BOUND to be some kind of symptoms or strange experiences. Here’s a few that maybe you experience from time to time: 1. Lifting Up, Flying or Floating As An Astral Projection Symptom Have you ever been falling asleep and felt like your body was beginning to fly or float up off the bed? Or like someone or something was lifting you up? This is probably one of the most common astral projection symptoms and isn’t necessarily as scary as it is odd-feeling. It’s simple to explain – your physical body is feeling in-sync with your astral. So when your astral body goes to separate, your physical body feels it lifting up and out. You might also have had many flying dreams over your lifetime. 2. Falling My daughter is a natural astral projector and she explains her feeling of leaving her body as “falling down a rabbit hole”, similar to what Alice in Wonderland experiences. Many of us get this feeling and sometimes it comes along with a hypnogogic dream/hallucination of falling into a hole. Walking and having your foot fall into a pothole. Falling off a building, etc. I believe this is a symptom of leaving one’s body BUT could also be a feeling of re-entering one’s body too. Either way, some of us are jolted awake by it. 3. Voices During Astral Projection Sometimes they’re friendly. Sometimes they’re not. And sometimes it sounds like a conversation is going on in your living room or right outside your bedroom window. While I believe this is sometimes an individual’s clairaudience kicking in, it can also be a symptom of astral projection. When our astral bodies are “out and about”, we will hear at a greater extent and hear sounds in other planes of existence. This comes off sometimes as a whisper in your ear. OR you may hear someone shout your name. 4. Shaking Bed Syndrome Now this is where we get into whether these symptoms are a medically-induced side effect OR spiritual in nature. Every once in a while, I begin falling asleep and/or wake up to my bed noticeably shaking under me. Could it be your partner or dog making the bed shake with their leg or snores? Sure. And could it be you are shaking in your sleep without realizing it? Yes. But if you’ve ruled these things out, this experience is a little scary. But don’t worry! I truly believe this is another symptom of leaving and/or re-entering your body. Energy causes weird things to happen…and when we are powerful enough to astral project and return, the energy has to go somewhere. So it makes things around us shake or tremor, on occasion. 5. Exploding Head Syndrome It sounds downright terrifying, doesn’t it? Don’t let the “scientific name” scare you. While doctors deem this a “sleeping disorder”, to me it’s truly another astral projection experience. What is exploding head syndrome? Well, have you ever been woken up by a loud bang, knock, or thump? Like a bomb went off in your house or like someone’s breaking into your house? And your husband has no clue what sound you heard as he’s still sound asleep? Yep. The loud bang you hear that jolts you awake in the early morning hours is likely the sound of your astral body slamming back into your physical body! 6. Sleep Paralysis: An Astral Projection Symptom and Nightmare One of my least favorite astral projection symptoms is sleep paralysis. This is when your eyes open, and your mind is waking up, but your body hasn’t caught on yet and is still frozen. Scientifically, while we sleep, our brain sends a signal to our bodies to not act out our dreams. What happens in sleep paralysis is that our bodies are still in that mode and have to catch up to our waking brain. So, essentially, we wake up and feel paralyzed. During this time, you may also have “hypnogogic hallucinations” or open-eyed dreams in which you see terrifying creatures or things that may sit on your chest, strangle you, etc. You scream and nothing comes out. You try to move and you can’t. It’s one of the worst experiences of my life. The first time I ever had sleep paralysis was the worst. Because I didn’t know what it was. As time’s gone on, […]

Dreamwalkers: What is a Dreamwalker, Guidelines and A How-To Ritual https://otherworldlyoracle.com/dreamwalkers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dreamwalkers https://otherworldlyoracle.com/dreamwalkers/#comments Wed, 10 Mar 2021 17:56:25 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=6413 Dream work has always been a part of my spiritual practice and life long before I had an established practice. I have experienced a wide variety of dream places, spaces, and phenomena from sleep paralysis to astral travel and even lucid dreaming. However, there remains one dream practice that seems to fascinate people over all the others: dream walking. In this article, I answer the question, “what is a dreamwalker” in detail. I also provide guidelines for the practice, and a ritual to get you in the proper space to perform this work. First, What is a Dreamwalker? Dream walking occurs when one person enters the dream space (the consciousness) of another individual. When this is done subconsciously and without control, it’s called shared dreaming. However, when it’s done consciously with control, it is known as dream walking. I’ve experienced shared dreaming for many years. It started when I was around 16. I knew that I was shared dreaming when people told me they’d dreamt of me the night before. And described to me the exact same dream I had while asleep. When I was in my mid 20’s I was introduced to dream walking. The practice of purposefully leaving my dream space and visiting the dream space of someone else’s consciousness. This is still a kind of shared dream, but it has some distinct differences than the experience of a shared dream. Shared Dreaming vs. Dream Walking The first and most distinguishable difference is that to dream walk, before sleep you set a conscious intention to walk into a particular person’s consciousness while they are asleep. The second is – while in the other person’s consciousness, you gain control over the space. You can change the scenery and control your actions and responses, as well as visit the otherworld. To be a dreamwalker is like astral traveling into a specific person’s mind and performing lucid dreaming functions. For more information what lucid dreaming is, check out this article.  Guidelines for Dreamwalkers I began dream walking through the use of spell work and ritual, which I will give instructions for a little later in this article. But first, we need to talk about the ethics and precautions of being a dreamwalker. Remember these are my personal guidelines. If you have different ethics, remember you have to live with the consequences, positive or negative. Guideline #1: You should NEVER dream walk into someone else’s dreams unless you have their expressed permission. You are literally walking into someone’s head. To do this without permission is the ultimate invasion of privacy. This is not a shared dream, and it doesn’t happen by accident. Dream walking is a conscious decision that should never be made without prior consent. It is also a deeply personal and intimate experience (you’re letting someone into your most vulnerable space). That being said, I recommend doing this with those you are close to in your waking life. Especially if you are the kind of person that doesn’t easily let people in. Guideline #2:  Check your motives. Why do you want to dream walk with this person? If you follow guideline 1, this shouldn’t give you too much pause. But if you didn’t gain expressed permission and are entering into someone’s mind for the ill intent like causing confusion, mind control, or causing nightmares, stop and think about the consequences. Weigh the risk vs. reward. Remember, you will be in the dream space too and you won’t be the only one that can control the dream. Guideline #3: Mental health is of the utmost importance. Dream walking is the work of the mind. If you or the person you wish to dream walk with suffers from mental health issues, keep this guideline in the forefront of your mind. In my experience, walking into the dreams of others who are suffering from depression, grief, trauma, or other mental illnesses is generally not a good idea. The mind is already dealing with an imbalance it’s trying to correct. You, or the other person, may travel to the otherworld and wish to stay (I’ve actually had this happen, it caused sleep paralysis, took a whole lot of energy, and it was NOT fun). If you’ve assessed the risks and still wish to continue, you both should have an idea of what the dream scape will look and feel like prior to entry. This way the experience is less jarring to the mind. Guideline #4: One person should take the roll of the dream anchor. A dream anchor in dream walking is the person who initiates the end of the session. This person is the anchor between the dream space and reality. You should know which of you will be the anchor before dream walking and, if it’s you, you should know how to end the dream walk. Anchors typically find using a specific hand gesture or phrase to bring them out of the dream works great. Ok, you’ve listened to the guidelines and are eager to try out dream walking. Great! The ritual below is the one that started me on the dreamwalker’s journey. It’s really spectacular and it always works for me. When you first start, you both may only remember bits and pieces. However, the more you do it, the more practice you get and the more clearly your dream recall will become. Listen to Allorah Talk More About Dreamwalking In Our Podcast Below: Simply Sandman: A Dreamwalker’s Ritual You will need: 2 red chime candles White string An album of music Something to carve your candles with Dreaming Tea Instructions: Brew your dreaming tea an hour to an hour and a half before you enter dream space. There are heaps of dreaming teas out there. But a simple recipe I love is valerian root, chamomile, mugwort, and honey. Carve your name and any other information you want into your candle. This signifies your identity within the ethers and allows the other person’s consciousness to more easily access your dreaming stream […]

Snake Dream Meaning: What Does It Mean To Dream About Snakes? https://otherworldlyoracle.com/snake-dream-meaning/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=snake-dream-meaning https://otherworldlyoracle.com/snake-dream-meaning/#comments Tue, 04 Aug 2020 15:58:21 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=5383 I couldn’t tell you how many snake dreams I’ve had in my lifetime. Each a little different from the last. Has a serpent been slithering in and out of your dreams lately? Let’s explore the many snake dream meanings and answer the question “what does it mean to dream about snakes?” I think the answer may surprise you. Snake Dreams: Snake Myths and Symbolism Mythology and folklore are the driving force behind much of dream symbolism. So let’s explore snake mythology and lore from ancient times. Snake As Healer Before the snake received bad press, he was a healer. The modern symbol used often in Western medicine is called the Caduceus: a snake wrapped around a cane/pole. There’s a reason this symbol is ingrained in medical logos. Our spinal cord is said to be the physical manifestation of our Kundalini energy – a snake-like energy center that runs the length of our head – torso and connects to our chakras. When we awaken this energy, we align and heal ourselves. Snake as Guardian The Romans believed in household guardian spirits they called Lares. Lares were often illustrated in snake-form. Snakes were protective beings in the eyes of Ancient Romans. They not only protected homes, they protected the barriers between the physical and spiritual worlds. This is why the Norse World Tree, Yggdrasil, is guarded by a giant worm (snake) called Níðhögg. The legend says Níðhögg gnaws at the root of the tree, but in my visions, Níðhögg is actually guarding the entrance to the Other World. Snake as Wise One There are so many people that have a fear of snakes and therefore feel their snake dreams are evil. This stems from the Christian Biblical story. It goes like this, a snake tempts Eve to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. She accepts and eats. Then she knows all that God knows. While this story is taught as evil and puts snakes in a bad light, from an esoteric perspective, the serpent empowers Eve with wisdom. Her own ability to decide. In many other cultures, the snake is the wise one, not the evil one. Snake as the Symbol of Transformation The snake has been a symbol of a renewal and transformation for thousands of years. Why? As it grows, it has to leave its old skin behind. The Ouroboros is a snake symbol common on many ancient Norse, Celtic and Egyptian artifacts. It represents the never-ending cycle of life, with the snake biting its own tail in a perfect circle. When we see snakes in our dreams, we are getting ready to go through a big transformation. Common Snake Dream Meanings While mythology is important in interpreting dreams, we can’t properly interpret them without understanding the symbolism first. So let’s answer the question, what does it mean to dream about snakes? That depends on the type of snake dream! 1. Snake Dream: A Snake bites me in my dream What does it mean if in my snake dream, the snake bites me? The snake, in this case, is trying desperately to get your attention. But what is he trying to teach you? When an animal is being aggressive in a dream, this means it’s been trying to get your attention for a while and you’ve ignored it. The snake bite dream means you are getting ready to go through a major transformation. 2. Snake Dream Meaning: Being Squeezed or Smothered by a Large Snake Similar to being bitten in a snake dream, having a dream of being squeezed by a large boa means you’re ignoring something important. The snake is telling you its time for change – time to transform your life. This could mean transformation of body, mind or soul. Or all three. The smothering aspect means you are resisting the change. 3. Snake in the Bed Dream In psychology, sometimes snakes are a phallic symbol. Seeing a snake in the bed in your dreams could indicate one of two things: a. you’re craving sexual intimacy or b. you feel your partner is untrustworthy or potentially cheating on you. 4. Snake as a Pet Dream When the snake appears in your dreams and is friendly, this is a good sign! If he’s your pet or friend, this means you are embracing healing, transformation, and wisdom. You’re on the right track! Different Color Snakes in Dreams Depending on the color of the snake, your dream could take on another meaning or have multiple meanings wrapped into one. Here are a few examples: Black Snake: some people associate black with evil; however, a black snake in your dream means spiritual transformation on a deep level. White Snake: a white snake dream could indicate something hidden being brought to the light – a moment of clarity and wisdom ahead Red Snake: red snakes indicate a few things – anger, passion, and/or healing of blood conditions. In addition, it could mean your primal ancestors are trying to contact you Yellow Snake: symbolizes a need for physical energy and physical transformation Blue Snake: a time of healing and peace is ahead, after a traumatic time in life Purple Snake: the magical world is urging you to follow the path of the witch and wise ones Green Snake: time to consider your career ahead, it might be time for a change! Alternatively, the green snake may symbolize the Mother Goddess reaching out to you Things to Consider About Snake Dreams When it comes to dreams, I believe two things could be happening. Either you’re having a symbolic dream, a message from your subconscious OR you’re being contacted by the spirit world via your dreams. Pay attention to how you feel in the dream and how you feel when you wake up. If the dream is extra intense and multiple senses are involved, you may have been contacted by the spirit world. This could be an ancestor, guide, or even a god. If it was a god, usually the deity […]

How to Lucid Dream for Beginners https://otherworldlyoracle.com/how-to-lucid-dream-for-beginners/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-lucid-dream-for-beginners https://otherworldlyoracle.com/how-to-lucid-dream-for-beginners/#comments Tue, 23 Jul 2019 21:11:36 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=3151 Lucid dreaming is beneficial for anyone who wants to get in touch with their spiritual side and the other realms. This technique allows you to become conscious in your dreams and therefore find pertinent spiritual information and aid your own spells in manifestation. In this article, we teach how to lucid dream for beginners. What is Lucid (Conscious) Dreaming? To most people, dreaming is nothing but a nightly, collective stream of garbled thoughts and images. But there are those that view and use their dreams as a pathway to enlightenment and adventure. Is this you? Then lucid dreaming is right for you! What is lucid (also called conscious) dreaming? It’s when you’re in a dream and actually realize it. When you become lucid, it’s an exhilarating and eye-opening moment. Not only does it allow you to travel the astral plane, and therefore other realms, but also to speak with otherworldly beings. You may meet your guides, ancestors, friends who have passed away, elementals, angels, gods and more. It’s even possible to walk into another person’s dreams. How I Learned How to Lucid Dream I started my dream-journey when I was little, at the age of 6. My first lucid dream went something like this – I was in my grandparent’s garage, being taught by a little boy how to fly. He told me I could use this technique in my dreams to fly away from enemies and explore other worlds. Following this conscious dream, there were many more to come. The dreams ceased for a time. But when in my twenties, my dream-journey started again. I have been lucid dreaming ever since. My conscious dreams come more sporadically now, but if I follow the steps I’m about to teach you, I’m able to be conscious in my dreams and remember up to four or five in a night. How YOU Can Learn How to Lucid Dream: Techniques & Tips Some of these techniques I have learned from books such as Conscious Dreaming by Robert Moss and Lucid Dreaming by Steven Laberge. Others I’ve learned from personal experience. We sleep about one third of our lives, so if you live to be seventy-five that means you slept twenty-five years of your life! I don’t know about you, but I want to remember some of those 25 years! 1. Start a Dream Journal The first thing you MUST do when learning how to lucid dream is start a dream journal. Even if you don’t remember your dreams the next morning, it’s essential that you write down whatever your feelings or thoughts are upon waking. This triggers dream recall. And if during the day you remember pieces of dreams, jot those down too! The more you write, the more dreams you’ll recall and the more conscious you’ll become in your dreams. I am not sure why this works…it just works! 2. Positive Thoughts and Dreaming Goals Go to bed thinking positive thoughts – anger and anxiety won’t help you become lucid. Also, conscious dreaming authors claim if you go to bed with a dream goal in mind, it will come true after some practice. Well, I’ll be honest. I’ve tried this many times with not much luck. If you can accomplish your goal in your dreams, share your secret with me! My most spiritual lucid dreams came on nights when I went to bed in a positive state of mind and being open to whatever happened. Robert Moss emphasizes this in his book, Conscious Dreaming, which I highly recommend as a first lucid dreaming guide for beginners. 3. Try This Lucid Dreaming Recall Meditation The last technique to do when learning how to lucid dream is to try a guided meditation. Go to a private, quiet room where you won’t be disturbed. Give yourself at least thirty minutes to do this. Sit in a comfortable chair and think back to any dreams you had as a child. Next, remember how you felt in those dreams. Think about how you knew these were dreams and not reality. Move on to recalling dreams from your teen years. Even if you can only remember bits and pieces…they’re worth remembering. Finally, think about your recent dreams and think about how they differ from your past dreams. Record Your Thoughts and Experiences When you’re done, record all of the dreams you remembered from the past and any thoughts you had during the process. Try to think about this meditation throughout your day and for the rest of the week. Piece together possible meanings and ways to teach yourself how to remember you’re dreaming, while you’re dreaming. Lucid dreams can take you anywhere you want to go! You can talk to anyone and accomplish anything in your dreams. 4. Create Your Own Dream Encyclopedia After you’ve recorded your dreams over a long period of time, go back through your dream journal. You’ll start to notice certain dream symbols recurring. Maybe you dream of snakes often. Maybe you dream you’re back in high school and you can’t find your classroom. Take note of repetitive dreams and analyze what these dreams might have meant to you. Record these dream symbols and your personal interpretation. This will serve as your dream encyclopedia and aids in learning how to lucid dream. One that was considered a gift and a sacred ability. It went hand-in-hand with shamanic journeying, witchcraft practices, and shapeshifting rituals. Here, we learn how the astral double left the body to warn others of oncoming danger, traverse the spiritual and otherworldly realms, and shift forms into other creatures. And we may be left wondering…do we still have these abilities? DISCLOSURE: I may earn a commission for my endorsement, recommendation, testimonial, and/or link to any products or services from this website. Your purchase helps support my work in bringing you information about the paranormal and paganism. What is Astral Projection? Before we dive deep into the topic of astral doubles, we first have to define the roots of this concept. For that we have to take a brief look at the idea of astral projection. If you’ve heard any of the terms out-of-body experience, astral travel or lucid dreaming, you’re on the right track. Out-of-body Experiences An out-of-body experience is the inexplicable feeling you’ve left your body and can look down at yourself from above. Usually there’s a sense of floating up out of one’s body or detachment of some kind. These are used to explain near-death experiences as well as drug-induced states and also in our dream-time. Astral Travel What is astral projection or astral travel and how are these things different from an OBE (out-of-body experience)? Astral projection takes the OBE one step further – each of us have an astral body or “soul” that can separate from our physical body and travel. So it’s basically the same thing. These are old, primitive concepts that are still present in modern society in various guises. Many ancient cultures have talked about people having the ability to leave their bodies and travel. Ancient Pagan people from all over Europe have tales of this. Astral projection can be found in Hinduism, Buddhism and even Christianity. You just have to dig a bit to find it. The Concept of Multiple Souls The idea that we have an “astral” body seems bizarre but was a basic belief across the ancient world. If we look back to ancient forms of shamanism, the shaman had the ability to enter a trance-like state and travel to the other worlds. If we look at some of the oldest legends in pagan history in the Nordic and Germanic texts, there are references to people who have the ability of leaving their bodies. These people were said to fall asleep and travel great distances to deliver messages or perform deeds. Even in Christianity… Even in Christianity there is a concept of a person not only having a body and soul but having a body, spirit and soul. As a little girl, I remember my grandmother talking about this concept. She believed the soul was what made us who we are and the spirit was the part of us that was eternal. The part of us that left our bodies after death and traveled to Heaven or Hell (according to Christian beliefs). Looking at this theory now I can see the similarities in many cultures when it comes to seeing the human being as a multi-level, complex creature who may or may not have more than one soul or spirit. The Ka in Ancient Egypt In ancient Egypt, there was the belief the human being was composed of 9 bodies. One physical body and the rest spiritual or energetic in nature. The Ka was the part of the individual that could separate and travel to other places. We would call this the astral double today. Claude Lecouteux’s Work There are also those who believe we have more than one soul. That we can have multiple souls that have the ability to do different things. In Claude Lecouteax’s work Witches, Werewolves and Fairies: Shapeshifters and Astral Doubles in the Middle Ages, he presents striking evidence of this belief in not only ancient pagan people but also in modern day religions. The question is why would we have more than one soul? And if we have more than one soul, what can we do with them? Astral Doubles: Separation From the Body If the concept is correct, this means everyone has a soul or spirit or piece that separates from one’s body and travel elsewhere. This is often called an “astral double”. Methods of Astral Projection But how does an astral double separate from the body? Some say it’s an ability that everyone has, it’s just that most of us forget how to do so. Or that we do it in our sleep but forget by the time we wake up. Others say only certain people have this ability. Learning how to become lucid in a dream is one method. Meditation, trance-work, and psychotropics have also been used. In my experience, astral projection was during sleep and involuntary. There are certain signs and symptoms that I personally experience when I’ve been out astral traveling. OR when my astral soul is about to separate from my body. Why do astral doubles separate from our bodies? Going back centuries, a person’s astral double left the body while the person was asleep or in a trance-like state to gather information for an upcoming battle, deliver an important message, torment a sleeping enemy, or to warn of impending death. In ancient times, the shaman’s astral double traveled to other realms in search of lost souls (soul-retrieval), to learn how to heal someone, and to learn about the hunt. Today, if you google astral projection, people claim to use this method during dream-time to “have a trippy experience” or have some sort of encounter with otherworldly beings. But this ritual of separating from one’s body has a much deeper reason. In old times, if a person couldn’t dream (and therefore astral project), they were considered unfortunate. People who were particularly skilled in astral travel and dream-time were frequently elevated to high status in a society: druids, shamans, […]

14 Herbs & Crystals for Astral Projection and Prophetic Dreams https://otherworldlyoracle.com/herbs-crystals-astral-projection-dreams/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=herbs-crystals-astral-projection-dreams https://otherworldlyoracle.com/herbs-crystals-astral-projection-dreams/#comments Wed, 24 Apr 2019 21:59:40 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=2471 Sometimes our dreams offer us insight into the past and the future. We might meet otherworldly beings in our dreams. Sometimes we are born with the ability to dream walk. For those who are dreamers, if you’re looking for ways to increase your dream magic, here are our favorite crystals for astral projection and herbs for prophetic dreams and lucid dreaming. First, What is Lucid Dreaming? And Astral Projection? Maybe you’ve come here and you’re curious what lucid dreaming actually is and if it’s different from astral projection. Lucid dreaming is, put simply, the ability to be conscious in your dreams. It’s that moment when you realize, hey this doesn’t seem real…I must be dreaming. At this point, you’ll be able to go anywhere you want in the dream and basically do anything you want. While it’s a lot of fun to bend reality in your mind in this way, the point to lucid dreaming is to explore and learn things about yourself and your spirituality. Lucid dreaming is different from astral projection, according to some. They say when you astral project, your astral body leaves your physical and that you can literally see yourself floating above it. While I agree, I also believe that you can astral project in your sleep. And you might not necessarily see yourself floating, but you might experience other symptoms. If we are conscious of our whereabouts while astral projecting and lucid dreaming, what’s to stop us from doing both? Or both experiences being one-in-the-same? And as for prophetic dreams, these are dreams in which you are literally peering into the future. Sometimes our dreams provide us a magnifying glass into the past, to clarify on complicated or even tragic events. In my experience, I’m not usually lucid OR in the astral realm when having a prophetic dream. It’s a different kind of experience…more like I’m watching a movie and seeing something play out on a screen in front of me. But I’m not typically part of it. 7 Crystals for Astral Projection & Prophetic Dreams One of the easiest things to do to increase your dream magic is to use crystals for astral projection and dreaming. They’re fairly cheap to purchase online or at a metaphysical store. You don’t have to buy a huge, expensive stone, a small nickel-sized crystal will do the trick. Here are our favorite crystals for astral projection, prophetic dreams and lucid dreaming: 1. Amethyst A pretty purple version of quartz, amethyst has been used for centuries to induce lucid and prophetic dreams. We refer to it as the psychic stone because it truly aids in increasing one’s abilities by opening your third eye. I’ve used amethyst for the past decade to increase my dream magic and always have results. Place it in your pillowcase, on the nightstand next to your bed, or between your mattress and boxspring to increase your dream time and prophetic dreams. Place the small piece in your pillowcase. 2. Lapis Lazuli When I think of past life dream magic and prophetic dreams, I think of lapis lazuli. Lapis is one of the most effective crystals for astral projection which I believe has to do with its ties to ancient civilizations. This royal blue stone with gold flecks is not only gorgeous, it’s potent. Use it in small doses, else it will make you feel flighty and un-grounded. Lapis is connected to your third eye and throat chakras and thus may be used in meditations prior to sleep to increase your dream magic ten-fold. 3. Selenite One of my favorite crystals for astral projection protection is selenite. Selenite is a white, cloudy crystal associated with the crown chakra – it links us to the Divine. It’s high vibrational, which means it is self-cleansing. If used while dreaming, selenite offers a white light bubble of protection around your astral body. It allows your guides and guardians to protect you from negative astral beings and from nightmares. 4. Lepidolite Another pretty purple crystal for astral projection and dreaming is lepidolite. Linked to the third eye, lepidolite is a great crystal for prophetic dreams and astral travel. Wear it on your person throughout the day to induce dreaming at night. Again, with this crystal too, you’ll want to wear it and use it for dream magic in small doses. Using crystals and stones associated with the higher chakras too often can cause light-headedness and flightiness. I know from personal experience. In addition, this particular stone connects us to the fairy realm, so be aware you might meet otherworldly beings when sleeping with lepidolite. 5. Clear Quartz The ancient Egyptians placed quartz inside their obelisks to generate power from the heavens. Sleep with clear quartz beside your bed and you’ll experience clear dreams from the Divine. Also connected to your crown chakra, clear quartz is a wonderful crystal for astral projection. 6. Black Obsidian for Protection and Shadow Work Black obsidian is one of those stones I always have near me while I sleep. And truthfully, I don’t keep it around to induce dreams but rather to ground too much energy while I sleep. Sometimes I go into phases where all I do is dream at night and it gets exhausting. I might even wake up with sleep paralysis or nightmares. And when I do, I grab my black obsidian palm stone that sits on my nightstand and hold it until I fall into a restful, peaceful sleep. It’s also helpful if you’re doing shadow work and it’s spilling over into your dreams. 7. Moldavite Moldavite gained lots of popularity in the witchcraft and metaphysical communities recently. There were people even saying that you should beware of the stone, that it might generate too much energy and cause chaos in your life. I’ll be honest with you folks, I have moldavite. True, genuine moldavite from the Czech Republic. I have had no problems with chaos in my life since acquiring said stone. In addition, it’s actually induced some pretty […]

Soul Mate Dreams: Can You Dream of Someone You Never Met? https://otherworldlyoracle.com/soul-mate-dreams/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=soul-mate-dreams https://otherworldlyoracle.com/soul-mate-dreams/#comments Fri, 15 Mar 2019 15:14:07 +0000 https://otherworldlyoracle.com/?p=2071 We wonder if there’s that perfect someone out there for us. Is there such thing as a soul mate? When our souls were created they were created in pairs and groups. One of the other souls in your soul group could be your soul mate. Between lives, we often choose to reincarnate with the same souls each lifetime, so meeting your soul mate in this life would be highly likely in that case, wouldn’t it? In this article we’ll explore the possibility of soul mate dreams and answer the question “can you dream of someone you never met”? What is a Soul Mate, Exactly? In addition to having a soul group, you also have soul mates. Yes, I said soul mates…as in plural. What exactly is a soul mate? A soul mate is a soul from your soul group you’ve had intimate relationships with in multiple incarnations. This means in this life or a past life (or lives), you and another soul from your soul group have incarnated together and had an intense relationship of some kind on this earthly plane. This could be a romantic relationship, family relationship, or platonic relationship…but it was close nevertheless. Mate can mean someone you “mate” with, but it can also mean friend. How to know your soul mate: Will I Meet My Soul Mate? It’s a very romantic notion to think everyone has a perfect soul out there for them, just waiting to be found. The truth is – you’ve probably already met your soul mate and soul mates (more than one). One of your soul mates may be your best friend. Another could have been your grandfather. And yet another an ex-lover. Don’t box yourself into the notion of finding that “one perfect soul” for you – there’s more than one soul mate for you. And you might already know him or her. Also, romantic love isn’t the only kind of love on earth. Don’t live your life searching for that one perfect love, because you’ll miss out on the other love experiences. Are Soul Mate Dreams Real? Dreams can take us to far-off places. Surreal places where reality is blurred and things aren’t what they seem. We are taken to places we’ve been before. Sometimes our dreams seem like future memories – experiences in our dreams sometimes become reality. Are dreams just psychological pictures brushed off as “all in a person’s head”? Or are they something more? It’s Up To You to Decide To answer whether soul mate dreams are real or not, the individual must evaluate his or her beliefs and experiences. For me, I’ve had dreams that have come true on one level or another, so I know that my dreams are real to some degree. I also believe that our dreams can be distant past-life memories and even memories from other realms of existence. And if you pay attention to your dreams, you’ll realize how your dreams reflect the events in your life past, present, and future. Sometimes dreams are prophetic in which you may meet someone on the dream plane that you’ll eventually meet in real life. Record Your Dreams A tip on how to use your dreams to read the future is to start recording your dreams every morning. At first you might not remember your dreams, but as soon as you wake up write down any thoughts or feelings you had that night. You’ll begin to see patterns in your dreams and waking life. Pay particular attention to the people in your dreams: did you dream of someone you never met before meeting them? When we dream of people we’ve never met and there’s a STRONG feeling of love, are we having soul mate dreams before meeting our soul mates? Deja Vu: Can You Dream of Someone You Never Met? When we dream we always have other people there with us. Sometimes their faces are blurred or they seem familiar but we can’t place them. Sometimes they’re obviously people we know in real life – a family member, friend, neighbor, colleague, etc. Often it’s just a familiar presence, without a face or body. So how do we know these vague dream-people are people we’ve yet to meet and not just a figment of our imaginations? How to Tell You’re Having Soul Mate Dreams Write down any conversations with this dream-person, how they make you feel. It’s possible this vague person in your dream is one of your soul mates’ astral doubles (dream-selves) searching for you. Our astral doubles go ahead of us to meet people and prepare a way for the future. Next, take note of how frequently this person shows up in your dreams. These soul mate dreams may be premonitions of meeting your soul mate. OR your soul mate is literally walking into your dreams or you into theirs. When you meet your soul mate in waking life, you’ll know him/her immediately. There will be a strong feeling of deja vu. That urge inside is your soul confirming what it already knows. It’s likely one of you will even say, “I feel like we’ve met before”. Or “I feel like I know you from somewhere”. Soul Mate Dreams After Loss Maybe you lost one of your soul mates. Maybe the two of you couldn’t remedy your differences and your romantic relationship had to end. Or perhaps, sadly, your soul mate passed away and is now in the spirit realm. I believe wholeheartedly that you can still dream of your soul mate after they are no longer physically present, whether by distance or dimension. If you’ve gone through a breakup, and you’re still seeing your soul mate in your dreams, it might be he or she is dream walking into yours. You might still have an energetic cord connecting the two of you. And, truthfully, if you belong to the same soul group, you’ll end up seeing each other again in another life or in the afterlife. If you’re dreaming of a soul mate […]
