A SECRET Tea Recipe to Honor Hecate (Members ONLY)
Are you dedicated to the Goddess of Witches – Hecate? If so, maybe you’d like to try crafting a tea and drinking it in her honor. Here’s my personal, secret tea recipe for Hecate from my grimoire. Plus a little about how I created it and how to drink it properly.
Hecate Tea Recipe
- black tea – 1 tsp.
- peppermint – 1/2 tsp.
- spearmint – 1/4 tsp.
- lavender – 1/4 tsp.
- fresh pomegranate
- 8 ounces hot water
Pour the hot water over top the loose leaf ingredients and let it steep for 5-7 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea. Strain the tea leaves. Add a small slice of fresh pomegranate and honey. Hold the cup of tea into the air and recite the following incantation (or make up your own):
Oh Hecate, Mother of Witches
Partake of this tea with me
I drink in your ancient wisdom and glory
May you walk beside me always
And forever more…
You can also make a separate cup of tea for Hecate and leave it on her altar as a special offering.
How I Created Hecate’s Tea
It’s fairly simple to come up with a tea recipe to honor your gods, goddesses, spirits and ancestors. It only takes a little time and effort. First make a list of herbs and plants you know your god/goddess/ancestor enjoys. If you don’t know what they enjoy, it’s time to research. Look up herbs associated with your god/goddess. If you can’t find anything, research herbs and wild edible plants in the region your god/goddess/ancestor hails from. For example, the pomegranate is one of Hecate’s sacred fruits which is why it’s included in the recipe. Then write an incantation/prayer to recite before drinking your tea. That’s it!
