We love wearing rose quartz to calm our nerves and boost self confidence, especially when paired with self care rituals like herbal baths, Reiki sessions, meditation, etc. Honestly, I have rose quartz in random places in my house to keep the loving vibes going. 3. Bloodstone Bloodstone might not be the first crystal for love you’d think of. But I believe in its power to get the love flowing in both directions (to and from you). For Bella Donna Members only. You’ve heard of it. You’ve thought of looking into it. Sex magick. It seems everyone is doing it these days. Well, maybe not the magic part but definitely the sex. Did you know there’s ways to harness that potent energy for magical purposes? Sex can be used to propel your intentions into the Universe, as well as to manifest your dreams. In this article for Bella Donna Members only, we get down in the nitty gritty and talk all the things sex magick. Warning: adult content. What is Sex Magick? The Bare Bones (wink) Sex magick is a form of magick that relies on the energy generated during sex or masturbation to fuel a spell or magical intentions. Our bodies are sacred. They are powerful in so many ways, and sex is just one of the many ways we can use our bodies to make magick. Having healthy, regular sex is beneficial to body, mind and soul in many ways. For the body, sex lowers blood pressure, boosts our immune systems, helps us sleep better and reduces our risk for heart disease (Ohsu.edu). In the spiritual sense, sex aids in opening and realigning our lower chakras including the sacral and root. And when these chakras are in alignment, we feel grounded and rooted in Mother Earth. We allow our creative juices to flow easier too (juice pun intended). As for our emotional health, being intimate with a partner physically and emotionally allows us to trust and confide in that person. We join our bodies, minds and souls. Before Making Sex Magick With a Partner There’s two preliminary things to consider with sex magick: is your partner willing to aid in your magical endeavors? Or will you make magick without your partner knowing? In this regard, some folks say we’re getting into moral issues. I say if your partner is going to have sex with you anyway and is having a good time, why do they have to know you’re harnessing your orgasm as a means to manifest? HOWEVER, if your partner is down to get down and manifest your intentions along with you, even better. Tip: hang onto that person! How to Make Sex Magick With a Partner Okay let’s talk about sex baby. How do you use sex to manifest your intentions? There’s a few different ways, but here’s my recommendation: Choose the right timing to align with your intentions (i.e. the waxing moon to grow your bank account, grow your love for one another. Or choose one of the fertility sabbats like Beltane for an extra bang for your f*ck.) Cleanse yourself and your space (if you can) beforehand. This means a cleansing ritual bath or shower and also smoke-cleansing or clearing the space in which you’ll do the naughty. Set the mood with music, aromatherapy or incense, or whatever gets you and your partner in the mood (obviously some people aren’t into gushy stuff like romantic music. If you prefer whips and chains, I’m not here to judge. Go for it.) Before you and your partner begin, visualize your intentions manifesting. Whatever it is that you want to happen in your life, see it in your mind’s eye. See it as if it’s already happened. Hold that image for as long as you can. It’s best to do this before having sex, because you’ll want to focus on your partner at that point. If you enjoy lingerie, match the color of your teddy or thigh highs with your magical intentions. For example, green or gold for money. Red to ignite passion. Next, let the night or moment unfold as it will. Focus on pleasing your partner and in turn being pleased. Revel in the moment. Don’t worry so much about your magick. You don’t want to focus so much on your spell that you forget your partner. The magick is in the energy and intimacy generated between the two of you. Also you might not reach climax if you’re constantly focusing on your magical intentions. The big moment here, and when you’ll push your intentions into the universe, is when you reach climax. Envision your intention like a wave or a ray of light moving down from your crown to your root chakra. Then when you reach climax, release it into the universe at the same time. Sex Magick With Yourself Obviously sex with yourself will be a little different than sex with a partner. All the power lies in your hands (get it?) or toys. The choice is yours. But the key is to have an intense orgasm, and if you can hold off for awhile, even better. 3 POWERFUL Attract Love Spells and Rituals

Some of us love it and some of us loathe it. Valentine’s Day. The day of love, sex and, for some, loneliness. Well, the good news is I’m about to enlighten you on the pagan origins of Valentine’s day and how love magick isn’t just for the coupled. Valentine’s Day has pagan roots in the Lupercalia festival. Lupercalia was an ancient Roman festival held around February 15th each year, filled with sexual debauchery to release fertility and healing in the hopes of warding off evil spirits and cleansing the city. If you can’t get on board with the consumerist notions of Valentine’s day, perhaps you’d like to celebrate Lupercalia with some good ole fashioned attract love spells. A Note on Love Spells & Ethics Love magick is controversial when a practitioner wishes to cast a spell to bring a lover back to them, break up a relationship, or to dominate a love interest. Personally, I’ll cast love magick with my partner’s permission, but I choose not to cast love spells which affect another person because of my personal ethics. The core of love spells affecting another is, for all intents and purposes, an attempt to control their mind. For me, that just sounds like a whole lot of unnecessary drama and responsibility I don’t want. However, many people have no issue whatsoever in casting love spells which affect other parties. Solo Love Spells Are Powerful! Love spells aren’t restricted to romantic partnerships. They include self-love, fertility, and sex (masturbation) magick which can all be performed solo. I have no ethical qualms with this type of love magick. In fact, some of the most powerful workings I have ever cast have been solo love spells. So in honor of Valentine’s Day/Lupercalia, here are some attract love spells you can perform pulled from various styles of witchcraft. Attract Love Spell #1: Cauldron of Love This spell is a spell with no designated target. It falls under the category of solo love magick. Sometimes we wonder why we aren’t meeting the right person or continuously find ourselves in bad relationships. Sometimes we become so focused on what we DON’T want that we forget to tell the universe what we DO want. This spell will help you effectively communicate your desires to the universe. Ingredients: Cauldron Pink, white, and red chime candle Rose petals Petition paper and pen Come to Me Oil Van Van Oil Attraction Oil Instructions: Write down everything you want in a partner including physical, mental, and emotional characteristics Fold the petition paper and write your name three times in each direction, one over top of the other When your petition is finished, anoint it with a drop of each oil Place rose petals in a ring around cauldron Carve your name on all three candles (you can also include a personal power symbol) Anoint white candle with Van Van Oil Dress pink candle in Attraction Oil Dress red candle in Come to Me Oil Place all three candles (chime) into cauldron (fix to cauldron by melting the bottom of the candle until the hot wax can adhere to the cauldron) Recite Psalm 45, Psalm 23, or your intentions over your altar and petition Light all three candles in order of white, pink, red Hold your intention and place your petition paper in the flames to send it into the universe Burn candles completely and divine the wax if you wish For disposal, I have found that natural running water works best for this working to continue to charge it with flowing energy Attract Love Spell #2: Self Love Ritual Milk Bath Self-love ritual baths are just like Valentine’s Day – they are something we should be celebrating all year long but tend to slack on as life gets chaotic. We are often too busy going and doing that we forget to stop and celebrate/honor ourselves. This ritual bath is designed to give you a moments pause from all the craziness and remember that you are spiritual creature having a human experience. And remember, when we love ourselves we open ourselves up to love from others. Ingredients: Self-love herbs: white and pink roses, lavender, chamomile, angelica root, rue, tea, unicorn root, lovage, lemon grass, patchouli, passionflower, etc. Muslin bag or empty tea bag Music playing device Two cups of milk 1 cup pink Himalayan salt Lavender, rose, rose geranium, frankincense, basil, bergamot (a mixture of at least 3) essential oils 1 oz. of coconut oil 4 white pillar candles Instructions: Place the 4 white pillar candles around the bathtub and light Run the bath water and place muslin bag, essential oils, milk, and salt under the running water Stir the bath clockwise and recite an incantation designed to bring in self-love and connection to the universe Turn out the lights and turn on meditative music Submerge yourself into the water Close your eyes and focus on feelings of confidence, gratitude, connection, love, and achieving your highest self while releasing what weighs you down Remain in the tub as long as you need to feel revitalized When finished, drain the water and throw the used herbs back onto the earth Tip: remain naked or in as little clothing as possible until the following morning if possible Attract Love Spell #3: Sweet Jar Sweet jars (aka honey or sugar jars) have existed among Hoodoo and other folk practitioners for years. Clean BREAK: A Releasing Break-up Ritual for Healing

Sometimes it’s time for us to let go and move on. If you’re ready to break up with your significant other and need a clean, HEALTHY split, try our Clean Break Break-up Ritual. For Bella Donna Members Only. Clean Break: Healthy Break-up Ritual Break-ups can be messy. They can even be scary if your significant other isn’t aware of the coming news. But if you’re ready to have a new start and/or cut the toxicity out of your life, there’s a couple things we recommend doing. First, if you do this break-up ritual and expect your significant other to quietly go away for good…that’s just not going to happen. And if it does, it might come back to haunt you. So never replace having “the conversation” with your significant other with a ritual. Second, when you have the conversation, let your significant other down gently but sternly. Then cast this break-up spell to start the healing process for you and your significant other. A Warning: Abusive Relationships PLEASE READ PLEASE NOTE: if you are trying to get out of an abusive relationship, ignore what we said above and never put yourself in harm’s way! Get to safety. Your physical safety comes first! If you need to call the police or take refuge at a loved one’s home, do it! Don’t spend any more time with someone who doesn’t respect you as a person much less a lover. What You’ll Need: Black spell candle and holder or firesafe container Lighter/matches Small chain with links (from a necklace etc.) (if you have a necklace or piece of jewelry that was gifted to you from the significant other – this is even better!) Small cutting pliers Black sachet or small bag with drawstring Small shovel (don’t worry, we’re not burying bodies here, just ritual remnants!) Tools/supplies for cleansing (smudge bundle, holy water, or whatever method you prefer!) What To Do: This break-up ritual is best done on a Waning or New Moon but if you can’t wait for the moon phase, perform this ritual between midnight and 6 am on any day. Gather your supplies. Cleanse all supplies by whatever method you prefer (smudging, asperging, holy water, etc.) Say your prayers to your guides/gods/ancestors, asking them for their guidance, healing, and protection. Take your black candle and starting at the crown of your head rub it downwards over your entire body to the bottoms of your feet. Get every part of your body. This serves to pull any negative vibrations from your break-up off of you and put it on the candle. Breathe and pray while doing so. Can repeat this step multiple times until you physically feel lighter and the candle feels “heavier”. Once you feel it’s time, light your candle and say, “I release you _____ from the physical and spiritual bond we made. I wish you healing and peace, and I pray for the same. May this break-up be clean and healthy. So mote it be.” Put the candle in its holder. Next, take your small chain and hold it in your hands. The chain is a representation of the bond you made between you and your lover. Close your eyes and visualize the good and bad times. When you’re ready, take your pliers and cut the chain in the middle. Say, “with this tool I now sever, our bond in a clean, healthy manner.” Visualize you and your partner going about your own separate lives, feeling happy and at peace with your past relationship and moving on with your lives. Place the chain next to the candle. If the candle drips wax over the chain, that’s great too! Let the candle burn down completely. Gather the remaining wax, the separated chain links, and place them in the bag/sachet. Bury the bag facing the West of your house…this signifies that the sun has set on this relationship for good. (Alternatively, if it was an abusive relationship, you can send the bag downstream OR burn the remnants in a fire. Your choice but be safe!) Lastly, we recommend a cleansing bath ritual and a cord cutting ritual to fully cleanse yourself of negativity and to release any spiritual and emotional cords created via the relationship.

Full Moon Ritual Ideas + Rituals for Healing and Love

When I look up at the Full Moon, I know she’s looking down on me. I feel her healing and loving vibrations gently lighting the night sky and touching my heart. The Full Moon is a time to manifest. It’s a time to make things happen. Here are MY personal full moon ritual ideas for healing and love, as well as a look at the full moon ritual herbs I use on a monthly basis. Full Moon Ritual Ideas Using the 4 Elements 1. The Water Element Every provoking full moon ritual idea typically involves the water element in some form. Why? Because the moon is directly related to water – it pulls on the ocean’s tides AND effects our lives because we’re made up of 60%+ water. Some types of full moon rituals with water include ritual baths, making moon water, and full moon baptisms. We will go into each of these in detail below. Take a Ritual Bath on the Full Moon IMO one of the best ways to get the most of the full moon’s magick is to take a ritual bath. It sounds super fancy but it doesn’t take much. All you need is a bathtub in a quiet space, and maybe some body-friendly herbs, salts, and oils to add to the bath. Some of our favorite ritual bathing herbs include rose, chamomile, lavender, calendula, and jasmine. If you don’t have these herbs just lying around, add a few drops of essential oils to the bath. Or maybe some epsom salts. At the very least, put on some relaxing, witchy music and burn a candle. Sit back and meditate. Make Moon Water Making Full Moon water is as easy as leaving a vessel of water out under the moonlight to soak up its rays and energy. We recommend using a glass jar or bottle with an airtight lid. Fill it nearly to the top then cap it. Set it out when the moon rises and bring it inside before the sunlight hits it. Some witches also enjoy adding herbs, crystals (non-soluble and non-toxic), etc. to their full moon water. Then use that water to cleanse your tools, altar, crystals, add it to your ritual bath, add a cup to your laundry, the choices are endless! Be careful drinking moon water, as water has the potential to collect microbes (bacteria, fungi, etc.) when left out too long. 2. The Fire Element If you’re more of a fire person, that’s okay too! The fire element can be harnessed with candle rituals on the Full Moon that are SUPER effective! Bonfires are also fun as part of full moon ritual. What’s better than being outside, sitting by a fire, with the Full Moon’s light shining down on you? Fire scrying is part of having a full moon bonfire, or petition papers thrown into the fire under the moon’s gaze. 3. Full Moon Air Magick Something that’s really fun and whimsical to do is to blow bubbles in the moonlight. Think I’m crazy? Give it a try. You’re combining multiple elements, air and water, in this easy ritual. If you have kids that can’t seem to give you any free time, get them involved. I don’t know a single kid or person who doesn’t enjoy blowing bubbles. Plus, allowing them to soak up the moon’s rays, then reading their flight patterns is magical and relaxing. If the bubbles aren’t your thing, scrying with smoke is an air element ritual OR simply go outside and let the breeze talk to you. 4. Full Moon Earth Rituals Whenever I’m in the kitchen, I feel grounded. I feel close to my ancestors. And I feel closer to the earth. If you can’t get outside on the next esbat, consider making some magick in your kitchen. Brew a full moon tea, make moon cookies, or simply make an offering to your ancestors by way of the hearth. All full moon activities that invoke the earth element and your ancestors. If you don’t want to be in the kitchen, green witches should consider growing a moon garden with flowers that bloom in the full moon. Moonflower, night blooming jasmine, evening primrose, and night phlox are just a few amazing plants to add to your moon garden. Charging Your Tools and Crystals in the Moonlight A popular ritual nowadays, and for good reason, is to charge your crystals and tools in the full moon’s light. Place your crystals, stones, amulets, charm bags, and magical tools in a safe, dry place under the moonlight. Allow the moon to charge your beloved items with its loving, powerful vibrations. Try This SIMPLE Full Moon Ritual for Healing the Soul This full moon ritual for healing is specifically to heal a broken heart OR wounded soul. Have you been hurt and need inner healing? 3 Simple Self Love Spells for When You Need a Boost of Confidence

For hundreds of years we’ve been taught to take care of everyone else around us. To care for our neighbors. Finally in modern times we’ve realized we’ve forgotten to care for ourselves. You know that old saying, if you can’t love yourself you can’t truly love others? It’s so true and we’ve been neglecting ourselves for too long. As witches, we know how important it is to feel powerful, beautiful, and strong. So here are three simple self love spells for when you need a boost of confidence! Rise and Shine, Queenie! Self Love Spell What You’ll Need for this SIMPLE Self Love Spell: a mirror Instructions: Upon waking in the morning, after your feet have hit the floor, look in the first mirror you come to. It doesn’t matter how you look, if your hair is frizzy or you’re wearing old make-up. Smile at yourself for at least 5 seconds and see yourself made up and looking like a queen/king. Then say out loud, “I am beautiful. I love me. And I deserve an abundance of joy and peace. I am royalty.” Say three times every day for at least three days. Doesn’t sound like much of a self love spell, but I promise you positive affirmations and visualization together pack a BIG punch! The mind is a powerful thing. Pagan Dating: How to Tell Your Partner You’re Pagan

Whether you’re dating, in a serious relationship, or married, being a pagan is sometimes difficult when you’re with someone who’s not pagan. There’s questions that come up, beliefs are debated, and personalities can clash. BUT there are ways to a. tell your partner you’re pagan and b. date or be in a serious relationship with someone who’s not pagan when you are. Here’s how. First, Be Prepared for Different Reactions and Responses Before even approaching your partner or lover about your spiritual beliefs, prepare yourself for the worst and the best reactions. Your partner may already know and when you come right out and tell them, they might say “hey I already knew that about you”. This is probably the best of all outcomes. Another response might be one of more shock than negativity. Some people just aren’t educated when it comes to the words pagan and witch. I believe nowadays the terms are more prevalent and therefore most people, at least in urban areas, have already been exposed to the more modern definitions. However, if you’re living in a country or somewhere the main religion is Abrahamic, you might find your partner reacting in a big way or even being negative towards it. My thing is, if your partner reacts negatively at first, give them their space. Let them mull it over. And let them ask questions about your beliefs. Be open and honest, but remember, you don’t have to tell your partner every single thing about your beliefs. They are your personal beliefs, in the end. But if they’re genuinely curious or want you to clarify some things, be open to doing so. Now, if they poke fun at you or outright tell you your beliefs are weird, evil or wrong, you might be with the wrong person. If they react in this way, be firm and tell them that you feel strongly about your beliefs and wouldn’t make fun or be negative about theirs. And if they can’t respect you, you won’t be able to respect them in return. Next, Here’s how to tell your partner you’re pagan: 2. What to do if your partner reacts negatively The unfortunate truth is sometimes a partner may react negatively when you tell them you’re pagan. Usually, this person is just misinformed. Instead of getting angry with them, show patience. Explain that being a pagan isn’t evil and that you’re here to answer their questions. HOWEVER, if your partner tells you you can’t be pagan, denies you the right to your beliefs, or gives you an ultimatum of any kind, they are not the right one for you. Don’t let any person control your life – particularly when it comes to your spirituality. It isn’t worth it and you’ll end up resenting them for it down the road. 3. They’ll come around Keep in mind, hearing you are on an alternative spiritual path to theirs often brings up strong emotions. Give your partner time to digest the information if they are reluctant at first. If they’re a good person and truly love you for you, they’ll come around. BUT don’t expect your partner to cast spells, perform rituals, or follow your path. They have their path and you have yours. You don’t have to have the exact same beliefs to have a healthy, intimate relationship with your partner. You do have to have respect for one another. 4. Show respect for their beliefs In most healthy relationships, when you show respect for your partner they’ll show respect for you. Let’s say your partner is Catholic and you are Pagan. Maybe your partner invites you to a Catholic mass on Easter. Instead of being offended and refusing, model respectful behavior for their beliefs…the respect you want to see from them with yours. Attend a Catholic mass with your partner, but also tell them you want to have your altar out in the open, etc. It’s about having a mutual respect and understanding your partner’s spirituality is important no matter who/whom they call God (or not).
